ANDERSON COOPER APPOINTED U.S. AMBASSADOR TO THE PHILIPPINES

imageWashington, D.C. – President Barack Obama has nominated CNN’s Anderson Cooper to be the next U.S. ambassador to the Philippines.  The White House announcement on the nomination came on the heels of Cooper’s live reporting on the aftermath of super typhoon Haiyan which has devastated many cities and towns in Central Philippines.  He is the host of the popular CNN news program, AC 360. His reports from Tacloban, the worst-hit among the cities in the province of Leyte, gained both praise and criticism.

Many Filipinos, including expatriates from all over the world, have praised Cooper’s early coverage of the devastation in Tacloban and the Philippine government’s rescue and relief efforts which he described as lacking in coordination and clear strategy. “Fish everywhere.“ I said when I did my very first helmet diving. At first, I was pretty nervous because I’m the first person to dive and nobody else below on this place. Happy cos’ I saw a lot of fishes there! The 25 kilogram helmet I was carrying was like a normal hat if you’re under the sea. Capture the moment if you’re here. It was really awesome walking under the sea. You were look like an astronaut wearing the helmet.

If you’re in Boracay you should’ve not missed the water recreational activities. It was one of the best experienced I had when I was there in Boracay. I just did helmet diving, banana boat and snorkeling. It was a momentum experienced I had in my life. And don’t miss to ride on banana boat it was really the best. You’ll going to shout ‘till the end cos’ the current as you were on the boat was definitely drives you to the peak of your voice.
